In the Carpenter's Footsteps

Projects for 2006

This year we will do two trips. One will be to Costa Rica and one to Jamaica. This will be for adults, families with children and college age volunteers. What a great opportunity for the young to start volunteering. The Costa Rica trip is planned for late July (7/20 - 7/30). Jamaica is planned for the fall, October.

If you are interested in joining us on these mission trips this Spring-Summer, please let us provide additional information.

Puntarenas,
Costa Rica
We will be continuing construction on a new building to be used as a refuge and childcare facility at the church we built several years ago. Last year we completed the foundation and the walls, building 12 courses of concrete block walls. This year we will be building the roof, installing doors and windows and pouring the concrete floor. There are many needy children in this slum section called the Chacaritta. At this refuge the children will be able to get a hot meal and much needed love and compassion. The successful sewing classes that we started last year will be continued this year.
Jamaica  Three of the churches that we built have hurricane damage from the recent hurricanes that hit Jamaica. We will be returning to help these churches with their repairs. We will also complete work on the fellowship hall that we started in Santoy, Jamaica.
